June 14 is a day to give special honor to Old Glory – the symbol of our freedom!
For everyone here at ES&S, the U.S. flag embodies not only our country, but also our company.
We have chosen to honor this American symbol of freedom every day with a gigantic 40 by 60-foot flag that waves proudly atop our building. And, for nearly 40 years, our company, our passionate employees and our nation’s dedicated election officials, have helped make it possible for all of us to express one of our most fundamental freedoms: the right to vote.
We know that many of you will be raising your U.S. flags high today – have you ever been curious if you’re displaying it properly? Below we’ve shared some of the finer points of flag protocol:
- Never allow the flag to touch the ground or floor.
- Do not fly the flag in bad weather, unless you are 100% certain it is an all-weather flag.
- Fly the flag only from sunrise to sunset. It can only be flown at night if it is properly illuminated.
- The flag should always be allowed to fall free.
