At ES&S, we believe in the power of democracy and the importance of inspiring future generations to learn about elections. Every March, in honor of National Reading Month and Read Across America Day (RAAD) on March 2, we proudly host our annual RAAD Book Giveaway. The goal of this initiative is to spark excitement about elections and democracy among young readers across the country.
We are committed to providing books about democracy to schools, libraries and community organizations, creating opportunities to nurture a passion for civic engagement in the next generation. Since launching this annual giveaway, we have delivered over 40 books to election officials across 19 states. In 2024 alone, we gifted books to 13 winners and are excited to make an even greater impact in 2025!
What we’re giving away this year
For our 2025 RAAD Giveaway, we’ve chosen the delightful children’s book Everyone Gets a Say by Jill Twiss and EG Keller. This engaging story is a perfect way to introduce young readers to the democratic process.
How to enter the RAAD giveaway
Entering is simple! Here’s how you can nominate an election official or election office:
- Tag them on social media: Visit the RAAD Giveaway post on ES&S’ Facebook or LinkedIn page and tag the election official or election office you’d like to enter in the comments. Use the “@” symbol followed by their name or organization.
Why this matters
At ES&S, we’re committed to supporting the election officials who safeguard democracy in their communities. Through the RAAD Giveaway, we hope to strengthen their efforts by encouraging an early love of reading, learning and democracy in schools and organizations nationwide. This small but meaningful gesture serves as a reminder of the vital role education plays in building engaged, informed citizens.
